On this page I present some of the postcards that I have received which are SPECIAL in some way.
Kaart ontvangen van Alexander uit Minsk
Kaart ontvangen van Pony
The following postcard was received from YOSIN, South Korea.
The wooden statue, depicted here, is a traditional Korean art form. It is called "Jang Sung".
A Jangseung or Chang sung ('village guardian') is a Korean totem pole, to scare away demons. Normally, they come in pairs, a male and a female totem pole. Most of them are functional village guardians performing their traditional role of protecting the village or entrance of the temple, while others can be decorative only at roadsides or in gardens.
The reverse of the postcard is filled with drawings from Yosin. The texts are selfexplanetory.
Very unique! I love them very much.
Note: the card was received in an enveloppe.
